Whining incessantly worked for me. My dad got tired of listening to me and took me to the doctor. They gave me a shot of something (I don't know what - I was 15 - could have been the prednisone everyone is referring to), told me to cover the rash in calomine lotion, and it was gone by the next day. But I attribute my healing to the whining, 'cause if I hadn't who knows how long it would have taken?! :)
