I posted about 2 months ago that I was looking for "hospital" themed fabric for my grandson. He was scheduled for open-heart surgery this month. Joanie2 so thoughtfully sent me a piece with elephants and giraffes in pajamas with bandaids scattered around! I've attached 2 photos of the quilt and the sock monkey I made, with a repaired heart tucked into a velcro pocket on his chest. The best part - the doctors did a heart catherization procedure, a much less invasive procedure, and discovered no problems! The original echocardiogram evidently was in error. He was born with Tetrology of Fallot, a deformed heart and had major surgery when he was 6 months old and blue, to reconstruct his heart. Today is my husband's 70th birthday and he said this news was the best present ever!
