Ladies, thank you sincerely for your heart-warming comments. I will NEVER again leave my car out of the garage or with anything of value inside. Like I said, I was in a very upscale neighborhood and never dreamed anyone would have the slightest interest in a 25-yr. old machine. I couldn't have been MORE wrong.
I'm delighted to share good news. My X-husband found, bid on, bought an Elna like mine (NOT mine, but LIKE it) and is having it shipped to me. I'm flabbergasted. Not a gesture I would have expected him to make.
It's coming from FL and should be here (AZ) in a week. I'll have it serviced and let you know how it runs. I'm overjoyed, humbled, excited, and feeling very UN-worthy of his generosity.
I'll immediately record the serial number and put it to work churning out more quilts - photos of which I'll share here.
