I went to an auction yesterday and bought this Model 99. The wheel turns and it is clean. I am going to clean and shine it up, but I want to do it the right way. I have not plugged it in yet because I want to make sure the the motor is good. I know several members are expert at making a vintage machine purr like a kitten. Also, there was a tool in the case. I do not have a clue how it is to be used. Does anyone recognize it? My Mom thinks the case is walnut. I paid $25. Was that a good deal? I am anxious to get to sew on my new machine, but I want to be sure it is ready to go. I looked up the serial number on the internet and found out it was made in Elizabeth, N.J. in 1934 and that it is a 99. I was hoping for a Featherweight when I went to the auction, but am very happy with this machine.
