What makes it hard is everyone wants you to make them a quilt but when you tell them the cost they cringe. You try & explain that the quilt is made of good quality quilt fabric which is expensive. They would rather go & buy a premade manufactured quilt from Walmart! Go figure!
Needless to say they have no idea the hours in labor it takes to make a great quilt!
Not only has fabric gone up but so have thread & notions! My embrodery hoop was $75. Most of the foot attachments for my machine are priced over $25 it adds up!
I use to make alot of my clothes but with the cost of fabric its almost not worth it anymore!
Gotta love 2nd hand stores, church sales, garage sales, etc!
