Charlee, you are younger than I am. No possibility of woodshop for me :-( Ah, well
Me neither!!! I had Home Ec in both Jr High and High School...one of my friends ran the sewing machine needle straight through her pointer finger nail...they had to take the needle out of the machine with it imbeded in her finger and take her to the hospital. I hated the skirt I had to make, and never wore it. We made Gym bags (remember when we had to wear shorts & shirts for gym class?), skirts, and something else, but I don't remember what it was.
We had to make a wool suit. I don't think I ever wore mine. And in gym we had an ugly one piece shorts thing.
I had to take home ec too - I remember when they came up with Touch and Sew machines. I had a horrid time with those - swore off Singer for years. Used the FW at home to do my wool project. Didn't learn much - my mom was a home ec teacher before she stayed home with kids - I learned a bunch from her.
