Let's see if I can get this right. You just take on piece of large fabric and place blocks, circle and hexagons on top and stitch them down.
No, basically, you stack repeats of fabric on top of each other and cut your block pieces from that. In this case, six repeats. So, after the cut, I had six matching squares, which I arranged into the shape you see and then sewing them together.
