I have to be missing something and need your expert eyes to help me.

I am working on the Crossroads quilt from the Moda Bake Shop, here: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/05/...uilt.html#more

My blocks are coming up 14 1/2" in one direction (width on the drawn sample), but only 14" in the other (height). I checked my seam allowances and they appeared to be fine, so I did the math on it to see if I just cut it wrong but sure enough, it only adds up to 14"! BUT, it's been a long time since I've had a math class so I'm hoping someone can please tell me what they see the block size should be after the block itself is assembled (not the final size after sashing and binding is added).

If it is actually only 14" on that one side, would you trim the longer one to match? How can I not get my head around this?

Thanks so much in advance for your help. I've been doing a block here and there for a month, as much as I could with a nightmare going on at work. Now that the work project is over I have two weeks to get this finished and I'm...really ready for that. LOL

Thanks again!
