Tell her not to even try operating her new machine with an adapter. It'll slowly burn out the motor. I blew up both a sewing machine and an electric typewriter this way! (Electric typewriter? Tells you how long ago that experience was, but still, I wish I'd been warned!) I also regret not buying a Pfaff machine while I was living in Germany. Don't miss that opportunity!
