We had a workshop at a guild retreat a few years back. I finished a small DWR but didn't have enough of any of the fabrics to make it any larger. :( It is crib size. So I guess some baby will get a cute quilt. I did it in green and orange and I do have enough of the orange for the binding. Maybe that should be the next UFO. It doesn't need much to finish, I would just have to do it!
I do remember needing to buy the hemostat for turning the tubes, they weren't expensive but definitely helpful. I've used them a lot since then.
I'd say go for it, especially if you want to finish what could be a more difficult pattern.
