If you search on google for bees wax and then look at Dritz brand.It's a round plastic case with the round piece of bees wax inside. There are 3 slits on the top and 3 on the bottom of the plastic case. You just take your thread and run it through one of the slits. I run it through 2 times.

And eventually when you've worn the little wax disk into pieces, you can take them out of the round plastic case, hold them between your hands for a while to warm and soften the wax, then, roll the pieces into little balls or fatter disks.
