Get a toy on a stick and play for ten minutes a day. Or, teach her to fetch. Exercise helps.

We had one of those. We rescued him and he seemed ungrateful! He would sit on my lap and for no apparent reason bite me. We did the above, and that did help. Sometimes I could sense he was getting ready and I would just stand up and dump him.
