I am a big believer in Zodiac products for treating the house. Their foggers and carpet sprays have IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that prevents eggs from hatching and kills adult fleas for 7 months. So about every 7-8 months, I get my carpets cleaned and the next day I fog the house with Zodiac. No residue, no odor, no fleas. While it does not kill flea larve, when those larve mature into adult fleas they die. No matter how many infested rescue dog/cats I bring home, they are flea free in about a day.
