Yes, I did. I used wall paper paste, the stuff you buy to seal those edges that don't want to stay sealed. It comes in a tub and is thick and gooey.

Any way, I cut my fabric or wall paper so it covers the face plate and has between1/4 and 1/3 inch extra to turn under. Lightly smear the face plate with the "goop" smooth it on and get any bubbles out. Turn under the fabric and use the "goop" to keep it in place on the back. I cut an "X" where the switch toggle sticks out and turned under the wings of the "X" in all directions, let it dry and screw it back onto the wall.
