My mom passed away while working on a quilt. It took me seven years to get up the nerve to finish it, but I did. It was more than a quilt. It was THERAPY. When I brought those hideous patches out, I brought out all the old demons and love and anger and happiness, all of it came out.l When the last stitch went in, it was as if a weight had been lifted. It gave me closure to finish that quilt.

Maybe you don't need closure, maybe you don't need to work things out with grandma. But you'll finish more than a quilt, no matter what. It is a journey--don't delay in taking it!
