All of the cabinets that I've bought have cup stains on them also. I wonder what these women were drinking :shock: :shock: :shock: while they were sewing...lol!

What did you use to sand it...what type of sander?
ETA: I love that machine in that cabinet. The 2 tone green compliments the brown of the stain.

Yes, I don't have a picture of the original underside of the top. But, it must have had a good 8 cup stains. I think so many people have just used these as either end tables or bed side tables over the years and haven't gotten into the habit of using coasters! It took me a while, but the stains are gone. I wish I'd taken better "before" photos to show just how sad it looked.

I sanded by hand, with a mouse sander and a regular, electric sander.
