Pull backing tight then lay batting and top down. Pin baste very close together.

When quilting, use the walking foot or darning foot. support the quilt well so there is no "drag."

Using basting spray is another option that I am going to try soon.

It would be helpful to know at what stage you are getting the puckers. Just when sandwiching or when you start to quilt and what you are using to baste and to quilt.
