some tension info - I'm thinking I had a 301 that had tension issues until I took it apart, cleaned it of goo and rust and reassembled. I also read that you should have the pressure foot lever down when you adjust so the tension pin is in the right place.

Thanks for this link. I printed it out so I can have DH check the tension unit on my 301. It sews, but the tension is very much off, as I have it set at 0 and it's still some tight.
remember to adjust with the pressure foot DOWN
