Don't give up on them trying to get started sewing. My daughter that wasn't the least bit interested in sewing suddenly had a NEED to know how to sew when she had a daughter. She had learned in Home economics and had tried a few things at home, but they usually ended up in the trash (or I finished them and she wore them.). Well today, she does heirloom sewing, smocking, embroidery ( hand and machine) -- and she does a beautiful job! So all is not lost. Don't push, but keep encouraging and "talking it up."
