I have an extra bedroom that I use for a sewing room or as my grandson calls it - my "clubhouse". I actually sew at the dining room table and we use the family room all the time. My sewing room is actually storage for fabric, etc. So, when I recently got a new sofa and chair, I decided to swap the living room and dining room. It was always so hard to squeeze between the buffet, china cabinet and the table when having family dinners. Now the table is in front of floor-to-ceiling windows with plantation shutters and lots of light for sewing. I call the new room my sitting room. The kitchen is between the "sitting room" and the family room so I don't miss much. I wish I had done it long ago. BTW, I gave the old sleeper sofa and chair to a group that furnishes apts for refugees.
