EVERY time!
Started doing this soon after I learned to sew, at age 10, and later added chain stitching (called "factory method" by my college Home Ec. teacher) when convenient to replace the leader with useful pieces. That was just a few...OK, quite a few...years ago. (Is Home Economics still taught anywhere nowadays? It's sure not in my area!)
