On the machine at the dealer, I had no problem (which sold me on the machine BTW). Here at home on my new machine, I literally have to grab an edge of my fabric between my thumb and forefinger to get the fabric to move and if I stop forcefully pulling, the fabric won't move. Am I too much of a novice sewer to have this machine???? I probably won't be able to visit my dealer until next weekend, as he is about 20 miles from my work. Too far for a lunch hour visit :( If anyone else has experienced this strange phenomena and has a quick fix or tip, I'd love to hear it! Thanks!
The open toe foot is where you are going wrong, you need to use the darning foot, which sits high off the quilt sandwich even with the foot lever down. The open toe is used for applique etc.
