I finally get around to using Retayne on all those green fabrics I bought for the Winding Ways quilt I’m making for Joe. Since Thursday night I’ve been ironing, tracing templates, and cutting pieces out with scissors. Mind you I’m not spending like just an hour each night (around 3-5 hours...more like 5 because I can't seem to get to sleep the last couple days on the account my brain won't shut up). I even brought my project with me to work so I could cut out pieces during my two fifteen minute breaks, the fifteen minutes before I clock in, and about half an hour of my lunch.

So far I’ve cut 165 pieces and I’m not even done. That’s not including the pieces I cut out yesterday---I reckon I cut about another 60 of them. I have three more fabrics to go. This is just the curved triangle pieces of the blocks---haven’t got the background fabric yet and I don’t even want to imagine the Hell I’ll have to go through when I get to cutting the background pieces. An once I get done cutting all the green triangle pieces the leftovers will be cut into rectangles for the border---at least I can do that part with a rotary cutter! Ugh, I'm so burnt out on fabric cutting, but I've procrastinated on this quilt long enough and putting it off isn't going to get it done in time for Christmas.

I think I need more ergonomic scissors.

To top it all off I just realized I lost the instructions that came with my Marti Michell templates for how to assemble these blocks. I manage to do at least one stupid thing with each quilt I do so I guess loosing the instructions is my idiotic quilting moment. So…instructions anyone? I suppose as soon as I get an answer the instructions will turn up.
