Different fabrics for blocks, cordorouy, suede, flannel, chenille, etc... scattered around on the quilt. The alternate blocks could be appliques of things he likes, like a hamburger :wink:
Ditto on all counts. I'll bet there's MacDonald's fabric out there, and/or burgers and fries and cheese slices, pickles, etc...
