Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I'll tell you nothing does more for a quilter's self esteem than some compliments on your latest quilt! ;)
To answer some of your questions, yes, the majority of this quilt is paper pieced. The circle itself is really four sixteen inch blocks, each one has 6 rings. The center circle and star is fusible applique, because I tried piecing it and I don't know WHAT I was doing wrong but it drove me absolutely nuts. Lol* I also did a little trapunto that probably won't show greatly until the quilt is finished and quilted, in the center star.
As far as what EQ program I used, I have EQ6 and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. When I can afford it I would like to upgrade yes because there is supposed to be a few features that I can use for pictorial quilts that I would really like to have, as well as some other adjustments and improvements to the program. Is it a necessity? Probably not, but I'd still like to have it. ;)
Same with this pattern, I could have drafted this, but EQ saved me HOURS in that all I had to do was design the one block, and then set it together as a quilt.
