Tea made with St. John's Wort is another one that can help. Oh, also perhaps a turkey sandwich, if you eat meat. Turkey has tryptophan which induces sleep which is why so many like to take naps after a thanksgiving dinner. When a sleep routine changes it is normal to have sleep disruption... you would adjust soon if this became routine... maybe times when he is going to be away plan to start relaxing early including soothing and comforting yourself with one of the above relaxants and a favorite movie.
