I have a self healing mat, after I have used it awhile, I get a dish of water with a squirt of dawn dish detergent. Take a soft brush and wash my mat (others put them in their bathtub). I get clean water (distilled) rinse the board. When it drys, I have a mat smoother which I use. Mat is like new and blades work like going through butter
