Agreed. Sounds like the pattern may be off. The pattern I have for this I got from the great American Quilts book for 2000 or 2001 can't remember which. It has templates. I have not actually attempted any tests of the templates.

OP, if your pattern is also templates, I recommend tracing them out and then cutting them out without seam allowances and then lay them out like a jigsaw puzzle to ensure they fit together. If they do not then you know the problem is with the pattern and not your piecing and you will have to redraft the pattern or find another source for it. If they do fit together properly, I'm not sure what to tell you as it sounds like all your piecing is in order.

I do know one of our board members did make this pattern. here is a link to his pictures. Not sure where he got his pattern from so I do know there are good patterns out there.
