In the flap part it would be beautiful to put her initials embroderied if you are able. I can't tell how big the envelope part is, but check your batting. It should tell you how far apart you must quilt. I've seen 4, 6, 8, and maximum 10 inches. Depends on the batting. A simple meander may be the way to go, it would be forgiving to hands that ache. I've been there myself. It's a beautiful quilt.
