Hi and welcome from a neighbor just up the road in Summerfield, NC. There are a number of books out that talk about using old shirts and ties but if you go to Bonnie K. Hunter's site, you will see that she uses shirts all the time for quilts. Check her out. She lives not far from us in the Winston-Salem area. She actually has a book out called "Scraps and Shirttails".

I made her "Smokey Mt Star" Quilt: I love going to the Goodwill too but never thought about getting the shirts that she made her quilt from: Now when I go I look for the biggest size shirts and you should see the cashier when I buy XXXXL shirts::: LOL
