It would just be something you put under the presser foot that would only allow it to be pressed down so far, controlling the speed - you can always go "pedal to the metal" and the machine will go at a slow enough speed to allow you to quilt evenly. If you have a speed control on your sewing machine (my Janome has a great speed control), you can set your sewing speed to match your moving of the quilt speed for the best looking quilting stitches. Does that make sense??
