Apples and Pears = Stairs. My dad always sent me to bed by telling me to get up the Apples and Pears.
Whistle and Flute = Suit.
Dog and Bone = Phone
Just a few off the top of my head, I'll think about some more. Often, they were shortened, so you wore a Flute which was a Suit, and you got on the Bone to speak to someone.
