So many of the suggestions cut up the fabric to the point where you miss the oomph and attraction of this fabric altogether (IMHO).
Something like Atkinson Design's SLIDE SHOW pattern came to mind - ise the umbrella fabric for the large squares and all kinds of complementary fabrics for the smaller squares. Here's the pattern weblink:
