The 180 was my very first embroidery machine. I loved it, but quickly wanted a machine with a larger hoop so I could do larger designs. At one point I was embroidering with the 180, my ULT 2003 and my Innovis 4000 and you could not tell from looking at the embroidery which was done on the expensive machine or on the little 180. It's a great starter machine. Be forewarned tho, you will want a larger hoop quickly.
