I am getting ready to start my William Morris quilt and I have a question. I purchased quite a bit of background fabric online that looked ideal. It is nice fabric but I can see my hand through it. Can anyone advise me if that would be too thin or not? I have always appliqued with new fabric but understand I have to prewash the fabric for this quilt in order for the fusible to stick and it can not be starched. Any response will be appreciated.
