How did you do that? Just spectacular, I'm amazed at the skills that are shared on this board, what an amazing group of people!!
The base of this basket started at 3 1/2 inches and gradually ended up being 7 1/2 inches at the top. It's 6 1/2 inches tall. The clothesline I used comes in 50 ft. lengths in a pkg. But I started with left over clothesline from another project and had to splice 2 ends together so I can't say exactly how much I used. My first basket I ever made took less than 50 feet including the handle...but others since, have taken over 50 feet.

No, I didn't plan when I was going to change colors ahead of time...I just did it when it seemed like a good thing to do. BUT, that said, I put a piece of tape on the base that indicated the starting point for going up to make the sides. I also used that tape to know when I was going to change colors...so that any time I decided to change colors I would do it at that point...and that's why it's all basically in the same place. When you're done making the basket, then just remove the tape. Hope that makes sense.
