I have a HandiQuilter 16 and use Maxilock thread all the time. I use a size 16 needle and use Maxi in both needle and bobbin. The only issue I have ever had with Maxi is dark navy and black threads. Tried 2 spools and could not keep it from constant breaking. But had that same problem when using it in my domestic machine as well.
I like Maxi because it is thinner and you get a lot less thread build up if you have to backtrack.
