I live on an island in the Chesapeake Bay and found out on Friday that we would be forced to evacuate by noon the next day. Floodwaters and rainfall accumulation were big dangers, not to mention the wind. While my parents took the dog and cats to Granny's, I went to stay with a friend who's like a sister for a weekend of fun! My pet rats and foster rats came with me. She and her husband graciously offered us their guest room during the storm.
Fluffy Miss Tasha wanted
nothing to do with the ratties and stayed safely downstairs. They terrified her. Such a fearless hunter. :roll:

Then things progressed into a quilting, writing, movie-watching tea party in the dining room! Of
course my featherweight Anise came with me!

There was also a hearty beef stew bubbling away in the crock pot for seven hours while we had fun. We started it right after breakfast and ate around five.

Of course, the storm got pretty intense. We drove around in her new hubby's truck (they were married last month) before the storm hit full-force to get our fill of nature.
