We had a stray cat have a litter of kitties in our storage facility at work about 20 years ago and after she got pregnant again I took her home where she had her kitties and I kept one (Smokey who just died), got her fixed and found her a home.

At work there was one feral kitty from the original litter who wouldn't come near any of us, we called her Shadow and fed her every day. After about 2 years we were able to trap her and get her fixed and at about 5 years we were able to pet her and she ended up being very friendly, but wouldn't come inside.

She lived to be 15 years old and passed about 2 years ago. She had asthma and the vet took her for the weekend because she was having problems and she died on a Sunday morning of a seizure and we got the message on our answering machine at work that she had died.

She was the best cat ever. We built her a cedar house on stilts but she slept under it so we closed it in and that's where she would go when it rained. At night she crawled under our work trailer and up into the floor boards. Many a time I'd have to dig her out after a snow storm and drove to work on weekends to make sure she had food and warm milk. She loved her warm milk. We used microwave gel packs to keep her warm during the day when she'd park outside out door under her little house.

She was a good kitty and she loved her tummy rubbed. I miss her terribly. We just lost her brother Smokey (who I had at home) a couple of months ago.

I have her ashes at home and she will be buried with me and my other kitties.
