It may well be a McKee pattern, in which case, there is a book with the basic pattern in it you can use. Copyrights are what apply to quilt patterns, as with other written stuff. They have a 25 year limit, unless renewed.
I looked at the pattern on eBay, looks like she rewrote a LeeWards pattern
