I recently washed a 40x40 piece of batting that had residual 505 spray on it. I put it in the washer with a towel on delicate, and dried it in the dryer until about 85% dry. Then laid it over chairs in my sewing room to finish drying. It worked fine. For fabric pieces, I would either do by hand or on delicate in the washer for like only 2 minutes.
