I love my TJ Lane (Thimblelady) thimbles - have two of those and I love my Roxanne thimbles - have two of those too. The Thimblelady's are lighter weight and my favorite one extends further up on my finger. They are all different sizes as my fingers swell and contract depending on the weather and/or what stage I am on with my "diet". I use a short black leather thimble for doing my applique and hand stitching binding down.
