When wrapping b-day gifts for the grandkids, I use the Sunday funnies, or the glossy store ad sections. I'd rather spend a few extra dollars on a gift instead of the paper that's just going to be torn off and trashed in seconds. The first time I presented b-day gifts this way, I got a funnny look from my DIL. She now knows if it's wrapped in funnies, ads or plain paper with stickers (which I get at garage sales) all over it, it's from grandma and grandpa.
I also save the coupons from the Sunday paper and give the ones I don't want to my DIL. Last year my DGD saw a box wrapped in ads paper and said, "Mommy, here's some coupons for you from grandma." Love those grandkids!
