Just have them together, It doesn't seem like they go together but they do. Just had it for the first time recently and am in love with chicken and waffles
I grew up on a farm in CT and we had chicken and gravy with waffles, with crepes, with mashed potatoes, with toast points or cups... all yummy!

My grama was Lithuanian and made Pigs in Blankets with ground pork, onions, carrots and peppers with rice and rolled in cabbage leaves and then slow cooked in a fabulous tomato sauce.

I'm gettin' hungry here and I just had dinner!!!
Those pigs in a blanket sound like Yugoslavian Sarma (cabbage rolls cooked in tomato sauce). Yummy!!
