I paper piece all my mariner's compasses. It's so easy to get perfect points that way!

Hint: If you take the time to re-draw all the lines for the points about 1/8" below where they are on the pattern you will be glad you did. What I do isput a dot about 1/8" below where the point seams meet & re-draw the sides of each point so that they cross at the new dot. This sort of floats the points so that when you set the circular piece into the setting square, you avoid cutting the points off & everything is perfect!!! Is this clear as mud? I'm sorry if it isn't. I can't remember where i heard about this, but I use it when I teach paper pieced mariner';s compass workshops. below is a pic of one of my recent classes. They were all so proud of their accomplishment!
