I was in New Zealand when they premiered the 4th one -- They had huge replicas of the ogre and club reaching out over the theater and the little guy crawling down the roof of the airport -- Lots of fun.
The first Harry Potter I loved because of the narrow gauge train -- It was filmed in Wales and the train is real -- a scheduled Britrail train -- a great ride over very scenic areas

I would consider Lord Of The Rings the best. Even with the changes made the movie was stunning in its vastness. I would consider Eragon the worst. They made it cheap and did not follow the story line. There are 3 more books, at least. And Christopher Paolini's writing is almost as involved as Tolkens, but easier to read.
I loved the Harry Potter books and movies, too.
