I am from Central Indiana and look forward to visiting this board often. I worked in the sewing industry for several years, and for most of my life I have enjoyed sewing.
My earliest memory of sewing something was a tablecloth for 4-H that I cut, hemmed & hand embroidered. I was about 8-9 at the time and the machine that my Mom had was a Singer Treadle machine. I made a lot of clothes on that machine and Mom made a lot of quilts. I grew up learning how to put scraps of fabrics (flour-sacks, too) to use to make pretty quilts that kept us warm in the winter. In SD we needed the warmth.
I got away from sewing about 20 years ago and have just started again. I finished a quilt for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. I look forward to getting to know you all & the projects that you are working on.
