After a wonderful trip, and was kinda sorta on my way home, it was time to visit Winterset. Ahhhhhhhhh - you know, "The Bridges of Madison County" place??? Come to find out, "the" bridge burned down, along with Francesca's house. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - but the locals DID inform me that it was true.....NUTS! Well, FIRST stop was at the Fons and Porter quilt shop......it was alot smaller than I had thought........'met some really really nice shoppers there==='had lunch at the "dessert" restaurant across the square. They were from North Carolina and were traveling across the US visiting all of the National Parks - nice people. Then 3 blocks away was the birthplace of Marion Morrison (I THINK that is right) you know, the Duke - John Wayne - The ole feet were sore and I just took a picture from the car. Anyway, fun trip, just wish my energy level was higher and I was alot younger. But try "exploring" by yourself someday - it is really fun!
