I have made several rag quilts for DGK out of flannel fabric. My stepson is turning 50 in Dec. and I would LOVE to make him a memory quilt. Since I am not at all experienced in quilting, my question is this: can I make a rag quilt out of regular calico print fabric and "rag it" like a flannel rag quilt. I plan on transferring photos onto the quilt also.
I want to use this rag quilt process in order to avoid the whole quilting process since I have no experience in that yet. Also, do I prewash this fabric? All thoughts, tips and hints are most welcome! Thank you all!
