I cut my top binding at 1 1/4 inch and the bottom one at 1 5/8 inch. I sew the top one right sides together and the bottom one right sids together down one side of the block. Then I sew only the top binding to the second block ,RST. Then flip it over fold in the unstitched side of the back binding and hand stitch it in place. The two blocks should be just touching each other under the binding. Does that help?
